Company Training Exercise

Tonight, April 16th, members of the Butler Volunteer Fire Company met for pump training on Tanker Support 491. The purpose of this training is to help new drivers learn and understand the in and out of each unit within our station. Brush Fire
Assistant Engineer Luke Uhler, April 15
On April 15th at 20:05, Station 49 was alerted to the 3000 block of Benson Mill Road (box area 49-02) at Falls Road for a reported Large Brush/Wild Fire. Tanker Support 491 and Brush 492 arrived on scene reporting a 50' by 20' area of brush on fire, spreading into the trees and towards the road. Assistant Engineer Luke Uhler, April 15
On April 15th at 15:39, Station 49 was alerted for a tree down on wires. Tanker Support Unit 491 responded with two personnel to the cross streets of Falls Road and Mount Zion Road in a 49-16 box. Upon arrival, units staged a safe distance from the live power lines and active fire on the ground. Tanker Support 491 preemptively called for BGE and a brush unit. Brush Fire
Engineer C.Little, March 27
Yesterday March 26, At 12:16 hrs a woods fire was dispatched in a 39-06 box. Units arrived to find Approx 5 acres on fire with a house and shed involved the first arriving units requested a firebox assignment. Approx 1 hr into the incident Sta 49 was alerted for the brush truck to respond. B492 responded to assist. All units operated for approx 4 hrs before returning to service.... (Full Story & Photos)
